If we have a question or see a conflict, we will contact you via your Winthrop e-mail
account. Please make sure to check your email regularly, as this is our primary means of communication.
By submitting an exam request, you confirm that you have read and agree to all of
the Test Center Guidelines listed on this page.
Students MUST schedule each exam at least one week (five (5) business days) in advance. This allows the Test Center staff ample time to check for seat availability, request
the exam from the professor, and to receive any testing materials/instructions from
the professor.
All students who do not submit exam appointment requests with adequate notice will
be given one exception per semester. Test Center staff will work to administer your exam on short notice, as long as your professor has the exam/instructions to us before your appointment.
Any appointment requests submitted within 24 hours of an exam will be automatically denied.
Any future requests after the exception will be denied and the professor will be notified. If
you have questions regarding the scheduling process, please contact the Test Center
Operations Manager at testcenter@winthrop.edu.
Exams must be scheduled for the same day and at the same time that the exam is given in class unless there is an academic-related scheduling conflict.
An example of an academic-related conflict is if the use of extended time for an accommodated
exam interferes with back-to-back classes.
Non-academic related obligations are not considered valid scheduling conflicts. If you have such a conflict, you are responsible for discussing this with your professor
prior to scheduling your exam at a different time.
Test Center staff will not provide excuses for missing class or work in order to complete an exam.
If your exam is online and not proctored, the student is responsible for reminding
the professor to set the exam for the appropriate extended time. (e.g., "Professor
Smith, as per my accommodation letter, please set my online exam for 50% extended
time.")
If you are unable to take an exam as scheduled due to illness or other emergency,
notify the Test Center staff and your professor as soon as possible. You and your
professor must agree on arrangements for rescheduling your exam before Test Center
staff will administer the exam.
Students registered with the Office of Accessibility for testing accommodations may
take their make-up exam at the Test Center ONLY if they were scheduled with us for the original exam date.
If the student was not originally scheduled to take an exam at the OA Test Center,
the student would need to work directly to their instructor regarding their make-up
options.
The deadline for submitting requests for final exams for the Spring 2025 semester
with the OA Test Center is MONDAY, APRIL 14th at 5PM.
The University's Finals Week is scheduled for April 30 - May 6.
The OA Test Center runs on a block schedule during finals week:
8:00 AM, 11:30 AM, 3:00 PM
If your instructor has a different time than these listed on their syllabus, please
select the closest time block available.
In order to coordinate all testing accommodations during Finals Week, the OA Test
Center may need to move your final to the next closest available time slot.
Typically, students will receive confirmation emails of their final exam dates/times/locations
on (or prior to) Study Day (April 29, 2025).
ONLY STUDENTS WITH TESTING APPOINTMENTS MAY ENTER THE TEST CENTER.
The OA Test Center is a reduced-distraction environment. Unless you are checking-in
for your appointment and are ready to begin your exam, should not be in the Test Center.
If you have any questions or concerns you will need to contact Test Center Staff at
testcenter@winthrop.edu or call 803/323-3290 (option #3).

the Test Center proctor will document your departure.
Visitors are not allowed to accompany a student into the testing room. Unattended children are not permitted
at any campus location.
Student Conduct and Disciplinary Action
Proctors perform regular walkthroughs and utilize security mirrors and computer monitoring
software to maintain an environment of academic integrity. Students are expected to
demonstrate academic integrity in accordance with the Winthrop University Student
Code of Conduct at all times. Any violation of the Student Conduct Code (outlined in section V) will result in the immediate conclusion of your exam. The
incident will be reported to your professor and the Dean of Students office, which
may result in disciplinary action.
Students who significantly interfere with or disrupt Test Center operations are in
violation of the Test Center policy. They may be asked to leave the Test Center and
may be subject to disciplinary action (outlined in section VI).
